New Horizons aims to better serve the needs of children and adolescents living with HIV and add to the body of knowledge about HIV-positive youth through healthcare system strengthening activities.

Building on progress made to date, New Horizons is continuing to strengthen the capacity of health systems in participating countries to advance pediatric and adolescent HIV care and enhance core program elements, including access to medicines, supply-chain strengthening and data generation.

Through combined efforts with national governments, implementing partners, and other stakeholders engaged in New Horizons the collaborative aims to:

Build healthcare worker capacity and healthcare infrastructure through:
- training
- development of tools
- leveraging resources
- sharing knowledge
Increase knowledge about children and adolescents and HIV by:
- driving innovation and operational research
- facilitating data collection, analysis, and reporting
Target operations challenges including:
- the development of optimized formulations for children and adolescents
- improve forecasting and supply chain support to address last-mile challenges
Engage HIV-positive youth by:
- developing children and adolescent-friendly services, patient advocacy, and policy
